I agree, except for your use of 'non-competitive'.
I find it very competitive. Though everyone has different ideas on what that means.
It is competitive in terms of the current game but there is no need to worry about meta gaming for some big game in the future.
That is why I an not keen on adding tournaments and prefer some kind of Championship.

Your perception is how blackbox should be.....And I wish I saw it like that.
Sadly I think it is as competitive as ranked ever was/is. And as for the varied races in it, I remain sceptical about that too. I initially loves the box, but I have found myself switching back to ranked recently, and actually enjoying it there more tha I did in the box. I hope that the many issues with it are ironed out when the testing ends.

In my opinion blackbox is a great idea. The bad thing is that as it was expected it is pretty much filled with nobrainer teams. 5 out of 6 opponents khemri for skaven? Gimme a fecking break. Furthermore: if and when blackbox will have stricter concession rules you might be stuck playing some guy from your blacklist who has a superior team and is generally a jerk. Waste of time? Yes. Worth it? Nope.

" it has started to shift towards a more varied amount of opponents"
I have found the opposite... more and more coaches who started non-Khemri/Orc/Dwarf/Chaos teams are either quitting Black Box or are jumping on the bashy bandwagon. Unfortunately that means that gradually we are moving towards a very dull Black Box dominated by 4 races. In the end it's not Black Box any more when you know what you are going to be facing :(
Of course those coaches that still start those races not of that type that keep on playing deserve credit... but where's the fun in being pulped game after game?

I'm having a lot of fun in [B]. I like being able to get a match quickly and to compete for one or many games as time allows.
I think [B] can serve several tastes. Casual players who want to play one-offs and competitive players who want a hardnosed no-picking environment.
